9 Days Safari to Kenya & Tanzania with Zanzibar Extension

Day 0: Arrival-Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be met and transferred to EKA hotel for overnight you will be booked at this hotel on bed and breakfast

Day 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara

Today after breakfast you will pick and drive to the famous Masai Mara for the game drive.

Overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

Breakfast Lunch and dinner provided. Drinking water will be provided every day per person.

Masai Mara is the home of the big 5 as well as the best place to witness the annual wildebeest migration taking place this July/October Lunch break en-route so that you drive straight to the park for your afternoon game drive until late evening.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Today after the breakfast you will be picked and proceed with your game drive in Masai Mara.

You will have the time to Visit Masai Village. Overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

Masai mara is situated in the southwest of Kenya, covering an area of 1 510 square km (583 square miles), the Masai Mara National Reserve is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains. The quintessential Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions, as the reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration.

Day 3: Masai Mara- Serengeti

After breakfast you will have morning game drive and driving to Isebania Kenya/Tanzania Boarder and get your visa and then drive to Serengeti national park,

The endless plains of Serengeti are also the setting for the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle – the 1.5 million wildebeest endless migration in search for fresh pastures. Each year they trek over 2,500km and are constantly threatened and followed by some of Africa’s greatest predators. Depending on the time of your visit, your driver guide will be able to share with you where the herd’s current location is at Serengeti.

Day 4: Full Central Serengeti

Today you will have hot air balloon followed by bush breakfast

Today you will drive for your full day game drive in Serengeti national park

The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round due to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti is a ‘must see’ on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Game viewing in Central Serengeti is at its best during the dry season (June – November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard.

Day 5: Serengeti-Ngorongoro.

Today you will have half day game drive in Serengeti and then after lunch drive to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater for your walking safari. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

There are several documented resident lion prides just within a one-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Zanzibar  

After breakfast, descend into the crater for a crater game tour.

Later on, you will drive to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight to Zanzibar for Overnight at Tembo hotel on bed and breakfast, Breakfast and lunch provided. Drinking water will be provided every day per person.

Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.

Day 8: Nungwi Zanzibar (Snorkeling)

Today you will be picked from the hotel and taken on a Stone Tour which will take you through fabled Stone town, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the house of wonders, the palace museum (People’s Palace), Dr Livingston’s house and the Arab fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques.

After lunch, you will be taken by boat to Prison Island to see the turtles and you have snorkeling.

Later after all excision you will drive Nungwi Dream by Mantis on bed and breakfast.

Day 9: Zanzibar-Departure

Today you will be pick up from the hotel in Zanzibar and drive to Zanzibar airport at 1: 30 pm for your flight back home.
