Important Travel Documents
Before traveling to East Africa, please make sure you organize all essential travel documents carefully and keep them easily accessible throughout your journey. Proper documentation helps you avoid unnecessary delays at airports, border crossings, and safari checkpoints during your adventure.
Please ensure you travel with:
- Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Visa/eVisa documents
- Travel insurance documents
- Flight tickets and safari vouchers
- Yellow Fever vaccination certificate (if required)
- Credit/debit cards and some cash in USD for personal expenses and tips
- Copies of important documents (printed and digital)
Recommended Safari Clothing
Choosing the right safari clothing greatly improves your comfort during game drives, walking activities, and relaxing evenings at the lodge. Lightweight and breathable clothing works best because East African weather conditions can change throughout the day.
Best Clothing Colors for Safari
Neutral safari colors blend naturally with the surrounding environment while helping you remain comfortable during wildlife viewing activities. Additionally, proper clothing colors help reduce attention from insects and avoid disturbing wildlife during close encounters.
We recommend neutral safari colors such as:
- Khaki
- Beige
- Olive green
- Brown
Please avoid:
- Bright colors
- Camouflage clothing
- Dark blue or black clothing which may attract insects

Luggage Recommendation
Choosing the right luggage makes safari travel easier, especially when using domestic bush flights and safari vehicles across East Africa. Soft-sided luggage fits more easily inside safari vehicles and small aircraft luggage compartments.
For safari vehicles and domestic bush flights within Tanzania and Kenya, we strongly recommend:
- Soft-sided duffel bags
- Lightweight luggage
Please note that many domestic safari flights allow a maximum luggage weight of 15kg including hand luggage.
Large hard-shell suitcases are not recommended.

A few extra travel items can significantly improve your comfort and convenience during longer safari journeys and road transfers. Small practical items often become very useful during game drives and overnight stays in remote safari locations.
- Reusable water bottle
- Travel pillow
- Notebook or safari journal
- Snacks for long drives
- Laundry bag
