12 Days Mid-Range Spectacular Kenya & Tanzania Safari

Day 1: Arrival-Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport you will be met and transferred to EKA hotel for overnight you will be booked at this hotel on bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Nairobi -Amboseli.

Today after the breakfast you will be picked by your safari guide and drive to Amboseli national park for the game drive .Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided Drinking water will be provided every day per person.

Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds, the name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.  They can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.

Day 3: Full Amboseli

Today after the breakfast you will be picked for your full day game drive in Amboseli national park.

Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Amboseli National Park is the park which consists of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while in the southern area there are a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol Kenya, Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow barked acacias and phoenix palms.

Day 4: Amboseli- Arusha

Today you will be picked from Amboseli national park in Kenya and drive to Tanzania via Namanga border where you will proceed to Arusha for Overnight at Mt Meru hotel on bed and breakfast.

Day 5: Arusha – Tarangire

Today after breakfast you will be met by your safari guide and drive to Tarangire National park.

Enjoy the wildlife. Overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Lodge.

Tarangire National Park is almost 3000 sq km in size and is probably best known for its huge numbers of elephants and baobab trees. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June – November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water). With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River the park is home to over 2000 elephants and 500 bird species.

Day 6: Tarangire –Lake Manyara

Today after breakfast, you will be picked up by your safari guide and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. For a game drive. Overnight at Kudu Lodge.

Lake Manyara is a beautiful little park which is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants and large troops of baboons. The park is home to an amazing variety of birds and animals considering its small size. A short visit to this serene park will greatly diversify your safari experience as the lush green jungle habitat is of stark contrast to the other parks you will visit during your safari.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

Today in the early Morning, drive to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater for a crater game tour.

Overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge

Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater-Serengeti

Today after breakfast you will depart for Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch box.

Enjoy and afternoon game drive before moving Kati Kati Tented Camp.

The Serengeti National Park is the world’s last great wildlife refuge as it contains an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature’s wonders. The area covers 14,763 sq kms and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai ‘Siringet’, meaning endless plains.

Day 9: Full Serengeti

Today breakfast, you will drive for your full day game drive in central Serengeti and enjoy game drive.

Overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp.

There are several documented resident lion prides just within a one-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.

Day 10: Serengeti-Masai Mara

After breakfast you will have morning game drive and driving to Isebania Tanzania/Kenya Boarder and get your visa and then drive to Masai Mara game reserve.

Overnight at Mara Leisure Camp.

Masai Mara is the home of the big 5 as well as the best place to witness the annual wildebeest migration taking place this between Masai Mara and Serengeti in Tanzania .Lunch break en-route so that you drive straight to the park for your afternoon game drive until late evening.

Day 11: Full Masai Mara

Today you will be picked by safari guide and drive for game drive in Masai Mara game reserve

Enjoy game drive before moving onto Mara Leisure Camp.

Day 12: Masai Mara-Nairobi

Today you will have the half the day game drive in Masai Mara, then you will picked up and drive to Nairobi where you will proceed to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight back home.
